What’s better than Christmas? Chicago Craft Beer Week 2017, and it’s just around the corner! The week-long festival of local beer kicks off on Thursday, May 18, 2017, and features literally hundreds of mouth watering events. Thursday, May 18, 6:30 to 9:30 pm, at Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park Ave.
Presented by the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild. Enjoy the Conservatory’s eight indoor display houses and outside gardens as you sip on samples from more than 200 craft beers in your souvenir glass. General Admission begins at 6:30 pm (5:30 pm for VIP ticket holders).

It’s the first ever celebration of local craft beer manufactured from South side brewers. You know we’ll represent! Enjoy more than 50 handcrafted brews from local breweries. Get your tickets here.

HTH Beer Cosplay and Coyote Riot

cosplay |ˈkäzˌplā, ˈkäsˌplā| noun — the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime. At Horse Thief Hollow, it means dressing up as your favorite beer that we’ve brewed.
That’s right, we invite you to dress up as your favorite HTH beverage at our in-house celebration for Chicago Craft Beer Week 2017. So get creative! For your efforts, we’ll reward you with the musical stylings of Coyote Riot.

Southside Wildflower Hike
Wednesday, May 24, 6:30 to 8:00 pm, Dan Ryan Woods Forest Preserve, 87th Street and South Western Avenue
Join your friends at Horse Thief Hollow along with Friends of the Forest Preserve for a leisurely hike through the Dan Ryan Woods. Enjoy the natural beauty as you view a historic Civilian Conservation Corps limestone walkway, Spring wildflowers, and the unique geology of Chicago’s South side. After the walk, hikers ( 21+) can sample beer from local south side breweries including Horse Thief Hollow, Baderbrau, and Blue Nose Brewing. Our one-hour hike will start promptly at 6:30 pm to ensure that we are back before sunset. We will meet at the pavilion across (and through the underpass) from the 87th and Western parking lot. The walk will conclude at the same pavilion, where complimentary samples from local south side breweries will be available until we lose day light. The forest preserve closes at sunset and all attendees must leave. If your thirst is not fully quenched, hikers are invited to HTH to continue the festivities!

Chicago’s South side has some of the best breweries in the nation. Kaiser Tiger’s got a bunch of them on tap for one night only.
