Horse Thief Celebrates Summer Swelter 2018 on July 21

July 10, 2018

When you’re knee deep in summer, there’s not much else to do but embrace the heat. Join us on Saturday, July 21, as your pals at Horse Thief Hollow host our annual parking lot party and homage to the season! Summer Swelter 2018 will be our most family friendly party ever, with events for the little ones in the early afternoon and fun for everyone else throughout the day. Here’s the lowdown:

Kiddie Swelter: Noon to 3 pm

Bring your kids over for an afternoon packed with activities!

  • Crafts and group project by Ellen King of Mrs. King’s Art Camp.
  • Face painting by local artist Cathy Sorich of Marvelous Faces.
  • Children’s music and instrument making by Miss Debbie’s Music

Mini Uprising Craft Market: Noon to 4 pm

Browse a range of handmade products from local artisans. Last year’s fair included original artwork, jewelry, all-natural bath and body products, and a range of other handmade items. We’re finalizing the lineup for this year’s market and are excited to announce our participating vendors soon!

Craft Brews and Food from Horse Thief Hollow!

Summer Swelter, our lemon radler, will be one of the ice-cold beers we’re pouring outside all day during our party. We’re finalizing our beer and food menus, and can’t wait to share them with you.

Live, Loud & Local Music . . .

The Pack Drumline and Dance Crew: 5:30 to 6 pm

We LOVE these guys! The Pack Drumline & Dance Crew blends rhythm, dance, and melody into an unforgettable performance. These guys are exhilarating to watch, and we hope you will come out and enjoy them at Horse Thief! A cool thing about The Pack is the service work they do. They provide leadership training and mentoring to young artists interested in percussion and/or dance. They’re truly inspiring!

H.a.R.D Featuring Jasmine Gill: 7 to 10 pm

Our headliner is none other than the groovy H.a.R.D, with Jasmine Gill on vocals. These local artists will get you movin’ with their live mix of funk, jazz, soul, and hip hop.

. . . and Live Art Performances with Ben Schlitz and Brendan Mack!

Sculptor Ben Schlitz of Ben Official Productions will bring his chainsaw and carve a tree trunk into a piece of art during Summer Swelter! His carving will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting The Beverly Area Arts Alliance.

Artist Brendan Mack will be doing a live painting performance to the groves of H.a.R.D.

Huge thanks to local realtor Molloy and Associates for sponsoring Summer Swelter 2018’s live music events!
