Horse Thief Hollow believes in giving back to the community that we love. Since our craft brew pub opened on the South side of Chicago in 2013, we have sponsored countless neighborhood organizations in Beverly, Morgan Park, and Mount Greenwood. We regularly host special events and donate beer dinners for silent auctions. We brew specialty beers to benefit local causes. And we support our local schools by donating beer to their events or making financial contributions. We feel that small businesses like ourselves have a responsibility to reinvest in our neighborhood, and so we try to lead by example.
We wish that we could fill every single charitable request that we receive, but we just don’t have the capacity. We have set up a Horse Thief Hollow Nonprofit Program that sponsors one charitable organization each month. School foundations and PTA-type groups are not on that calendar; every public and private school in our area (elementary, high and college) may request 15 gallons of beer or the monetary equivalent.
If your nonprofit organization or school is planning a special event next year, we invite you to apply for a donation. Please submit your request by December 1 for consideration the following year. Once our calendar fills up, we will ask if you’d like us to save your request for the following year.
