Rainbow Connection craft beer flight is inspired by the flavors of the Rainbow Cone

‘The Rainbow Connection’ Celebrates Craft Beer, Ice Cream, & the South Side

May 11, 2018

Drink your dessert? If that sounds appealing, you’ll want to try the Rainbow Connection, a flight of craft beers inspired by the flavors of the Original Rainbow Cone. The iconic Southside Ice Cream shop is celebrating its 92nd birthday this year. And to celebrate, Neil has partnered with his neighbor on Western Ave., John Brand of Open Outcry Brewing Co., to brew a series of tribute beers.

Join us at Horse Thief Hollow on May 22 for a craft beer release: the Rainbow Connection. Four limited edition beers, two from Horse Thief, and two from Open Outcry. Together, they make a rainbow of flavor. They’re available at both breweries for fans to enjoy, while the flight lasts!

The Rainbow Connection beer flight includes:

  • Rainbow Cone Orange Sherbet by Horse Thief Hollow: A Double Dry Hopped Hazy IPA brewed with lactose, vanilla, and oranges

  • Rainbow Cone Pistachio/Green Beret by Horse Thief Hollow: An English Brown Ale brewed with pistachios

  • Rainbow Cone Palmer House by Open Outcry Brewing: An American Pale Ale infused with cherries, vanilla and walnuts

  • Rainbow Cone Strawberry by Open Outcry Brewing: A Russian Imperial Stout with infused strawberries

This event is part of Illinois Craft Beer Week, being celebrated May 18–25, 2018.
