Announcing Sunday Brunch at HTH!

September 21, 2017

Banish your hangover, gather some friends, and brighten your weekend with brunch at Horse Thief Hollow! Our Sunday brunch runs from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm and features a rotating selection of food specials and cocktails. Our offerings on a typical Sunday might include such favorites as Biscuits and Gravy, Chilaquiles, specialty omelettes, and creative interpretations of Eggs Benedict. Our master mixologist and bar manager Lizzy Benner puts her own refreshing spin on brunch cocktails. Enjoy $5 Bloody Marys, Mimosas and refreshing BeerMosas. (They hit the spot. They really do.)

We wish we invented this magical meal, but Sunday brunch actually dates back to the late 1800s. That’s when the English enjoyed extravagant hunt breakfasts with multiple courses. Also, Catholics were known for eating a large midday Sunday meal after fasting before morning mass. English author Guy Beringer cited the many benefits of brunch in an article he wrote in 1895 for the publication Hunter’s Weekly: ”Brunch is cheerful, sociable and inciting,” he wrote. ”It is talk-compelling. It puts you in a good temper, it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings, it sweeps away the worries and cobwebs of the week.”

Though we can’t take credit for brunch, your friends at Horse Thief Hollow are happy to offer our own spin on this festive meal every Sunday in Beverly. Come join us!
